BEDFORD – A local woman is facing a criminal charge following an incident in mid-December involving a domestic dispute that resulted in property damage at a Bedford residence.
On December 13, 2025, at approximately 12:24 p.m., Bedford Police Department officers responded to a call from a female that reportting an object had been thrown through a window of her home.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Officer Joshua Turner, upon arrival, the homeowner showed officers a broken window located near her back porch. She identified the suspect as Kaitlyn Jones, 28, of Bedford, noting that Jones is the homeowner’s son’s ex-girlfriend.

The homeowner stated that Jones had been at the residence and was visibly agitated regarding a situation involving the homeowner’s son. After being asked to leave the house, the homeowner reported hearing the sound of glass breaking. Upon opening her back door, she observed Jones in the backyard.
When the homeowner informed Jones that she was calling the police, Jones allegedly told her to “go ahead” before fleeing the scene on foot heading north. Although officers searched the area and photographed the damage, they were initially unable to locate Jones or the object used to break the glass.
The investigation continued for several days as police attempted to contact the suspect. On December 17, 2025, Kaitlyn Jones contacted Officer Turner via a recorded audio and video call.
During the statement, Jones allegedly admitted to the following arriving at the home on the date of the incident. She claimed she witnessed her boyfriend and best friend engaging in sexual relations inside the home, which sparked an argument. Jones then admitted that upon exiting the residence, she threw a rock through the window before leaving the premises.
Based on the evidence and the recorded confession, Officer Turner filed an affidavit for probable cause on December 19, 2025. A warrant was then issued for her arrest. Jones was detained on January 19, 2026.
