Senate District 17 Caucus set for February 7th

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Republican Party Chairwoman Lana Keesling has officially called a caucus of eligible precinct committee members to fill the vacancy in the office of Indiana State Senator, District 17. The seat was held by State Senator Andy Zay, whose selection to serve as Chair of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission in the Braun administration, and subsequent resignation from the Indiana State Senate, has created this vacancy.

Indiana Republican Party Chairwoman, Lana Keesling, will chair the caucus. Individuals interested in running in the caucus should contact the Secretary of the Indiana Republican Party to ensure they file the proper forms prior to the deadline on Wednesday, February 4th at 10:00 a.m.

The caucus is only open to properly credentialed precinct committeemen or proxies, members of the media, and guests of the party.

The caucus will be held at The Elementary/La Fontaine School, 207 N. Wabash Avenue, in La Fountaine. It will begin at 10:00 a.m. EST, Saturday, February 7th, 2026. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. EST.
