
BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence celebrated Senior Night with a dominating 131-11 victory over Columbus East during girls high school swimming action on Thursday night.
The Stars swept the top two spots in every event in the girls meet. In the boys, the Olympians posted an 83-68 triumph.
In the girls meet, Skylar Neeley and Sabrina Lipp were a double winners. Neeley took the 200-yard freestyle (2:26.48) and 100 butterfly (1:21.86), while Lipp claimed the 50 free (27.12) and 100 free (1:00.72).
Other individual winners included Emma Heinzman (200 individual medley in 2:43.02), Amelia Rich (500 free in 6:34.39), Ava Lipp (100 backstroke in 1:06.79) and Jabrie Sullivan (100 breaststroke in 1:29.33).
In the relays, BNL touched first in the 200 medley (Ava Lipp, Sullivan, Sabrina Lipp and Kayeh Kwakye in 2:17.61), 200 free (Mackenzie Held, Avery Brown, Heinzman and Sabrina Lipp in 2:02.57), and 400 free (Kendall Held, Brown, Neeley and Heinzman in 5:02.35).
In the boys meet, the Stars won only two events. Franklin Johnson took the 50 free (25.05) and 100 free (55.85).
BNL will visit Mount Vernon on Saturday.
