BEDFORD — A Bedford man currently on probation for a previous drunk driving conviction was arrested early Sunday morning after police allegedly witnessed him speed through a red light.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Officer Sarah Haluda of the Bedford Police Department, 33-year-old Logan Meadows was taken into custody on January 4, 2026.

The incident began at approximately 2:50 a.m. while Officer Haluda was on patrol at the intersection of L Street and 15th Street. The officer reported seeing a red GMC pickup truck disregard a red light at a high rate of speed.
Officer Haluda initiated a traffic stop, and the vehicle pulled into the Dollar General parking lot at 16th and M Streets. Upon making contact, Meadows allegedly claimed the light was “orange” and attempted to provide the officer with a bank card instead of his driver’s license.
Officer Haluda noted that Meadows’ movements were “slow and deliberate” and that he struggled to follow instructions. Although he initially denied drinking, Meadows later admitted to consuming five beers in Gas City before driving.
During the investigation, the following observations were recorded, including Meadows struggling to locate his registration, providing a trailer registration instead of the truck’s, and failing sobriety tests.
Police removed firearms from Meadow’s waist and ankle for safety before conducting sobriety tests.
A preliminary breath test at the scene showed a 0.104%. A subsequent certified breath test conducted at the Bedford Police Department recorded a level of .111 grams/210 liters.
Records indicate that Meadows has a prior OWI conviction from May 2025 in Lawrence County. He is currently on probation for that offense. Following the arrest, his vehicle was impounded, and he was transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
Meadows faces the following preliminary charges in Lawrence County: OWI with a prior conviction, OWI endangerment, and OWI per se.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. This article is based on the information provided in the probable cause affidavit and does not represent a final determination of guilt or innocence.
