LAWRENCE COUNTY – My name is Jason Branham, and I am announcing my candidacy for Lawrence County Commissioner, District 1.

I have lived in Lawrence County for all but two of my 52 years. My wife, Andrea Branham, and I have been married for five years. We have four children Kayla Branham, Payton Helms and her husband Mason, Jaycee Branham and Taylor Acuff. We have one beautiful granddaughter. My parents are Wallace Branham and Mona (Stigall) Lewis.
My wife and I are active members of the Church of Christ in Oolitic. I attended Needmore Elementary School, Oolitic Junior High and Bedford North Lawrence High School, graduating in 1991. My undergraduate work has been in Human Resources Management.
I am a military retiree having served over 30 years in the Indiana Army National Guard, 22 of them on active duty serving several years as a Human Resources Non-Commissioned Officer focusing on all facets of personnel readiness. I am currently a real estate broker with Hawkins & Root Real Estate. I am also a Department of War contractor training new and struggling recruiters for the Indiana Army National Guard in the southern half of Indiana.
Having spent most of my life in the service of others, I am excited about the opportunity to continue that service as Lawrence County Commissioner for District 1. I am fiscally conservative and will always be a good steward of taxpayer dollars.
My primary focus as Commissioner will be public safety, including doing everything that can be done to keep our law enforcement, fire departments and EMS fully capable to keep the residents of Lawrence County safe.
I will also focus on bringing more commerce to Lawrence County by making it a great place to live, visit and do business.
I feel that my experience as a leader and a personnel services manager in the military, my experience working with the public as a real estate broker and as a military recruiter will be valuable in my role as Commissioner. I am eager to listen to the concerns of the great people in our community and the needs of all county office holders and department heads.
I look forward to the upcoming primary on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, and I would appreciate your vote.
Thank you,
Jason Branham
