Crash on Indiana Toll road claims life of Texas woman

LAGRANGE CO. – The Indiana State Police are investigating a fatal crash on the Indiana Toll Road that occurred on January 5, 2026, just before 11:00 p.m. near the 120-mile marker in Lagrange County.

The crash involved a single commercial motor vehicle, a box truck occupied by two people, traveling westbound on the Indiana Toll Road. For an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway, entered the grassy median, overturned, and came to rest on its roof.

The driver, identified as Neda Meketa, 45, of Haslet, Texas, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Family has been notified. A male passenger was transported to Parkview Lagrange Hospital with minor injuries.

At this time, drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be contributing factors in the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the Indiana State Police Critical Incident Reconstruction Team, and no additional information is available at this time.

Assisting agencies included the Lagrange County Sheriff’s Department, Lagrange City Police Department, Parkview EMS, Howe Fire Department, RMS Environmental, and the Lagrange County Coroner’s Office.
