INDIANA — As record-setting holiday travel begins across the country, the American Red Cross is issuing a critical call for blood donors to step forward. While many Hoosiers are packing their bags, medical treatments do not take a holiday, and the need for blood remains constant for cancer patients, accident victims, and those with chronic conditions.

The Red Cross is specifically requesting donations from those with Type O, A negative, and B negative blood, though all types are welcome. Shifting travel schedules and unpredictable winter weather often lead to appointment cancellations, which can severely tighten the blood supply during the final days of the year.
Give Blood, Get Rewarded
To thank donors for making time during this busy season, the Red Cross is offering several exclusive incentives:
- Free Long-Sleeved T-Shirt: All who come to give between Dec. 19, 2025, and Jan. 4, 2026, will receive an exclusive Red Cross long-sleeved T-shirt (while supplies last).
- Super Bowl LX Giveaway: Those who donate between Jan. 1 and Jan. 25, 2026, will be automatically entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LX in the San Francisco Bay Area.
