Geraldine “Jeri” Gaines, 87, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at IU Health in Bedford. Jeri was born in Bedford on April 10, 1938, to Erie and Knoxie (Hughes) Terrell. Jeri married Raymond Gaines on June 10, 1955, and he survives.
Jeri worked at H&R Block in tax preparation and as a Real Estate Agent and Broker.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Gaines of Bedford, two daughters, Valerie Gaines Goldsmith of Austin, Texas, and Leslie Gaines and husband, Adolfo Rafael Martinez of Austin Texas, three grandchildren, Robert Comeau, Mallory Comeau, and Theryn Martinez, great grandchildren, Nicholas Salinas, Zander Rodriguez, Jordan Rodriguez, and Raul Rodriguez, Jr., one sister, Sharon Ratliff, one brother, Gary Terrell.
Jeri was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, JoAnn Gaines, five sisters, Catherine Walls, Helen Deckard, Rita Nicholson, Connie Murphy, and Marsha Canada, two brothers, Wilbert Terrell, and Vernie Terrell.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Cresthaven Funeral Home with Pastor Byron Buker and Brother Kenny Dalton, officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 PM until service time at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Condolences may be made at www.cresthavenfh.com.
