Teenagers charged after shooting at Beanblossom Dollar General store

BEANBLOSSOM—Authorities in Brown County have filed preliminary charges against two teenagers in connection with a shooting that left two people injured at a local Dollar General store on Saturday, December 13th.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the two victims, whose identities are still being withheld, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to survive following the afternoon incident at the store located on the 5000 block of North State Road.

Following a rapid investigation, two suspects were taken into custody and have since been identified. They are 18-year-old Noah Jones and 19-year-old Zane Hall. Jones is facing a preliminary charge of attempted murder and Hall is facing a preliminary charge of battery with a deadly weapon.

Both suspects are currently being held in the Brown County Jail. The formal review of the charges will be conducted by the Brown County Prosecutor’s Office. Officials have not yet disclosed the full details surrounding the incident, but the charges suggest a high degree of intent and violence.

The violence appears to have stemmed from an isolated altercation at the retail location.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office has maintained that the investigation is ongoing and is working to determine the precise sequence of events that led to the gunfire.

Law enforcement is urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to contact the Brown County Sheriff’s Office as the investigation moves forward.

Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent until proven guilty through a fair and due legal process. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
