Obituary: Kenny Brinegar

Kenny Brinegar passed away in his home on December 12, 2025, at 8:22 p.m., with his daughter Kelly Brinegar, his mother Carolyn Brinegar, his nephew Ryan Lane, and
the (Amish) Frye family.

He was a big part of the Amish community. A viewing was held on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, from 3-6. The elders agreed to allow him to have an old-fashioned Amish viewing, which was very honorable in their religion and culture. Kenny had made many friends in the Amish community, as well as over the years with English people.

Kenny Brinegar was one of the most well-known and best mechanics as he worked at Vulcan Quarry in Kuttawa, Kentucky. He was a machine for the Roger cement block plant.

He was very close to Danny and Junior Easterday. He worked for Easterday’s at John Deere for many years and made many acquaintances in the process, such as David Maple. Chris Cornwell was a big part of Kenny’s life. Wayne Hopper, Wes Deckard, and Roger White worked closely with Kenny while hauling grain for the Lee and Stewart Gerkin.

He was an entrepreneur and had a construction business laying telephone cable alongside his daughter for many years.

Kenny owned two halflingers, which is how he met Johnny Wagner, an Amish family from Odon, with whom he became very close. Kenny moved and lived in many places, where he made many friends and acquaintances. He will be missed by so many.

He was the son of Carolyn and Raymond Brinegar. His maternal grandparents were Alice and Earl Dunlap of Orleans, Indiana. Paternal grandparents George and Verne Brinegar from Stanford, Indiana.

Kenny Brinegar leaves behind his daughter, Kelly Brinegar; his two grandchildren, whom he dearly loved, Tenzley Smith, age 10, and Cyrus Smith, age 6; and his mother, Carolyn Brinegar. His sister Kathy Lane from McDonald, Tennessee, and Kevin Brinegar from Orleans, Indiana.

Cremation has been chosen.
