FSSA extends open enrollment deadline for HIP and PathWays programs to December 24

INDIANA– The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) has announced an extension for the open enrollment deadline for the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) and PathWays programs. Eligible Hoosiers now have until December 24th to select their health plan.

The extension comes in response to high member engagement, providing individuals with additional time to thoroughly review their coverage options and make an informed decision.

FSSA is providing additional time for plan selection to help ensure no one feels rushed or uncertain about their choices.

The open enrollment period for selecting a new health plan is now extended through December 24th.

Members who do not select a plan by the new deadline will be automatically enrolled in a plan that closely matches their current coverage.

For members transitioning from the MDwise health plan, FSSA has provided a crucial safety net:

Members who miss the December 24th selection deadline and are subsequently auto-enrolled will have an additional 90-day window after their auto-enrollment date to switch to a different plan if they are not satisfied with their assigned coverage. This flexibility is specifically designed to support those impacted by the MDwise transition.

FSSA encourages all eligible members to take advantage of this extended time frame to choose the best health plan for their needs and well-being.
