Springville man detained after violating no-contact order

SPRINGVILLE — A Springville man was arrested late Sunday night after allegedly violating an active no-contact order by being present at a prohibited residence.

Cheyenne Starr, 41, was taken into custody by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department (LCSD) on December 7th and charged with invasion of privacy.

At approximately 10:11 p.m. on Sunday, Lawrence County Central Dispatch received a call regarding a protective order violation. The homeowner, who resides in the 800 block of Reuter Lane, reported that Starr had arrived and was walking around the property.

LCSD Sgt. W. Daugherty arrived on the scene and spoke with the homeowner.

The homeowner confirmed that Starr had recently been released from jail and was staying with a friend nearby. He clarified that the court order in question was a no-contact order related to an active, ongoing court case that had not yet been settled.

The homeowner informed officers he had approached Starr, who was sitting in a red pickup truck on the back side of the property, and told him he needed to leave because he was not allowed to be there.

Sgt. Daugherty confirmed through Central Dispatch that the no-contact order was still active and specifically prohibited Cheyenne Starr from being at or staying at the Reuter Lane address.

Sgt. Daugherty and Officer K. Long located Starr in the back seat of the red pickup truck. Officer Long removed him from the vehicle, and he was immediately handcuffed and transported to the Lawrence County Jail for booking without further incident.

Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent until proven guilty through a fair and due legal process. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
