INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Chamber’s Wellness Council of Indiana (WCI) is pleased to announce Heather Sittler, senior health strategist at Hylant in Indianapolis, has been elected president of the WCI Board of Advisors, effective last month.

Sittler, a well-respected health strategist with more than 25 years of experience advising organizations on employee well-being, brings deep expertise in aligning workplace wellness strategies with organizational mission, culture and long-term goals. Her work spans helping employers develop comprehensive wellness roadmaps, ensuring compliance with wellness-related regulations, identifying workforce needs, connecting organizations with wellness vendors and establishing metrics to measure impact and progress.
WCI Executive Director Ashley O’Rourke says, “Heather has been a trusted voice in workplace well-being for decades, and her leadership comes at an exciting time for the Wellness Council. She brings a deep understanding of employer needs and a passion for building healthier, more resilient workplaces. We are thrilled to welcome her as our new board president and look forward to the energy and strategic insight she’ll bring to this role.”
Sittler has spent the past 26 years at Hylant, where she partners closely with employers across Indiana to elevate organizational well-being. She is known for her collaborative approach, ability to simplify complex benefits concepts and her commitment to addressing all dimensions of employee well-being – not just physical health but mental, social, financial and environmental health as well.
In addition to her professional work, Sittler proudly served 25 years in the United States Army Reserve as a military police officer supporting global military police and detention operations. She retired in 2020 as a master sergeant after an accomplished and decorated military career.
As board president, Sittler will guide WCI’s strategic priorities, strengthen employer and community partnerships and support the expansion of programs aimed at improving workforce health, advancing economic vitality and building a stronger culture of well-being across Indiana.
“I am honored to accept the role as president of the Wellness Council of Indiana Board of Advisors. Wellness is a journey that impacts every individual, workplace and community, and I’m passionate about fostering environments where people can truly thrive. Together, we have an incredible opportunity to empower employers and communities across Indiana to prioritize well-being and improve quality of life for all Hoosiers.”
Sittler succeeds Nathan Taylor, whose leadership has helped advance WCI’s mission and expand its reach across the state.
WCI works collaboratively to positively impact the economic vitality of the state of Indiana by evaluating and guiding workplaces and communities through the development of their own comprehensive health and wellness strategy. This is primarily accomplished through programs, toolkits and training events.
