HUNTINGBURG — A Dubois man was arrested Monday by detectives from the Huntingburg Police Department following a lengthy investigation into online child exploitation. Christopher Wilson, 51, of Dubois, was taken into custody on December 1, 2025.

The arrest follows charges of vicarious sexual gratification, a Level 4 felony, and child solicitation, a Level 5 felony.
The investigation began on October 21, 2025, after the Huntingburg Police Department reviewed a Cyber Tip Report received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
According to police, the tip, which originated from the social media platform Instagram, detailed an adult male communicating with a minor female under the age of 16. Authorities successfully identified Wilson as the user of the Instagram account in question.
“During the investigation, additional evidence of child solicitation and vicarious sexual gratification was discovered through a search warrant and subpoena to electronic and internet service providers,” the Huntingburg Police Department stated in an online post.
Police executed search warrants in both Jasper and Dubois, leading to the seizure of numerous electronic devices. These devices have been transferred to the Knox County High Tech Crime Unit for forensic examination to uncover further evidence.
The investigation was conducted by Huntingburg Detectives, who are affiliated with the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. This multi-agency task force is dedicated to investigating and prosecuting crimes involving the technology-facilitated sexual exploitation and enticement of children.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent until proven guilty through a fair and due legal process. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
