Raymond Jones, 96, of Bedford, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Cedar Creek Assisted Living.
Born February 22, 1929, in East Oolitic, he was the son of Harley and Bessie (Phillips) Jones. He married Maggie Cobb on June 11, 1955, and she precedes him in death. He was an Educator at NLCS and Shoals school systems and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Raymond was a Christian believer in Jesus Christ as his Savior.
Survivors include daughter Patti (Jay) Brinegar of Bedford; two sons, Kevin (Kim) Jones of Fayetteville,
Steve (Kandi) Jones of Bedford; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maggie; five brothers, Reginald Phillips, Warren Jones, Wayne Jones, Dale “Big Boy” Jones, Doyle “Little Boy” Jones; 2 sisters Ilene Burton, Wyrtis Fitzgerald.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6th, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military Rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Burial will follow at Cresthaven. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. Saturday, to time of the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
