July 6, 1939 – November 21, 2025
William Kenneth ‘Ken’ Johnson, 86, of Bedford, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025.
He was born on July 6, 1939, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, to William Davis and Vonnie Earl Johnson.
Ken was a longtime member of Hillcrest Christian Church and Dive Christian Church, where he faithfully taught high school Sunday School for more than two decades. He proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran. Ken was a Master Mason and member of 32 degree Scottish Rite. For his entire career, Ken worked as a paper salesman, covering a territory throughout Southern Indiana.
Ken was known for his outgoing personality, quick wit, and love of joking and teasing with the people he met. His sense of humor and friendly nature helped him build lasting relationships with customers and colleagues alike.
In his spare time, Ken enjoyed golfing, crappie fishing, and working on projects around the house—hobbies that reflected his love of staying active and engaged.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Dale Johnson; his children, Pam (Kevin) Barnhart of Brownsburg, IN, Greg (Angie) Johnson of Avon, IN, and Kari (Josh) Johnson of French Lick, IN. He was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren — Tucker (Sierra) Barnhart of Zionsville, IN, Jordan (Erik) Piper of Carmel, IN, and Paige (Brendan) Barnhart, Brownsburg, IN — and great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Dive Christian Church (foyer & sanctuary) with a graveside service to follow at Dive Christian Church Cemetery.
Ken will be remembered for his strong faith, his generous spirit, and the joy and laughter he brought to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
