JASPER – Bedford North Lawrence finished 13th in the Rick & Rohl Tournament during girls high school wrestling action at Jasper on Saturday.
The Stars competed with five athletes. Bristol Kim was the top finisher, taking fourth place at 155 pounds. Kim recorded wins over Center Grove’s Ava Rose (pin in 37 seconds) and Center Grove’s Serena Dumapit (pin in 22 seconds).
Abby Tipton posted two wins over Center Grove’s Madison Cox (pin in 1:16 in the first round, and a pin in 1:07 in the quarterfinals) as Tipton placed fifth at 145.
Other competitors for BNL included Braeleigh Bex (105 pounds), Peyton Smith (115) and Elysia Guffey (140). Guffey logged a win over Center Grove’s Victoria Ackerman (pin in 1:46).
”The girls did pretty well,” BNL coach Dennis Sego said. “Four of them placed. I anticipate we will do even better with a few more days of practice.”
BNL will compete in the Turkey Tussle at Jeffersonville on Wednesday.
