Salem man arrested on child pornography charges

SALEM— An investigation that began in 2024 has led to the arrest of a Southern Indiana man on child pornography charges.

On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, Troopers arrested 22-year-old Eric S. Crawford on three counts of possession of child pornography, all Level 6 Felonies.

The Indiana State Police investigation, led by Detective Travis Baker, began in late July 2024 concerning an alleged child sexual abuse case in Washington County. During the investigation, Detective Baker secured a search warrant for one of Crawford’s social media accounts—the review of the seized files uncovered photos of a second, unrelated juvenile victim.

The findings were submitted to the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office, which formally issued an arrest warrant for Crawford on November 17, 2025.

Trooper Brett Walters arrested Crawford in Harrison County on November 18 and transported him to the Washington County Jail without incident.

Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent until proven guilty through a fair and due legal process. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
