Virtual food-safety Q&A set for Nov. 24

WASHINGTON – Purdue Extension – Daviess County is encouraging you to attend a free virtual “Turkey Talk” food-safety session is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 24, from 3 to 4 p.m. EST. The one-hour program will give home cooks the chance to ask food-safety experts questions about preparing Thanksgiving and holiday meals.

The event, hosted by the Partnership for Food Safety Education and the University of Maryland Extension, will cover topics ranging from thawing and cooking turkey to preventing cross-contamination in the kitchen.

Organizers said the session aims to help families prepare safer holiday meals and reduce the risk of foodborne illness as Thanksgiving approaches.
