INDIANA – The Indiana Office of Judicial Administration (OJA) has launched a new, high-definition juror orientation video, replacing the 2003 version. The video aims to provide prospective jurors with engaging, clear, and professional information about their service, reflecting the importance and honor of jury duty.
The project was spearheaded by the Indiana Judicial Conference Jury Committee, which spent years updating and refining the script. Judge Marla Clark, chair of the committee, described the effort as a “tremendous undertaking” to ensure the video provides “accurate, complete, and clear information.” The revised script was officially approved in April 2024.
In April 2025, the OJA selected Bowersock Media, an Indianapolis-based production company, from a pool of eight vendors to produce the video.
High-End Production and Collaboration
Filming took place over four days in July 2025 across three counties, employing a whole crew of Indiana-based experts, including camera operators, lighting technicians, and audio engineers.
- Locations: Scenes were filmed in the Indiana Supreme Court courtroom (featuring an introduction by Chief Justice Loretta Rush), the traditional-looking Shelby County Circuit courtroom, and the clean, modern Johnson County Superior Court 4 jury room.
- Quality: The new video features high-fidelity audio, graphics, and experienced actors to guide and keep the attention of viewers, ensuring a long shelf life.
- Post-Production: The OJA staff collaborated closely with Bowersock Media through the entire process, including post-production editing, to ensure visual accuracy and professional tone.
The new video is designed to be an investment in the judicial process, educating Hoosiers and alleviating the stress of potential jurors. Courts across the state have already received copies, and the video is also available online at youtube.com/incourts.
