City of Bloomington Utilities issues Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for 44 addresses

BLOOMINGTON – Due to a main break, 44 addresses on East Hillside and South Huntington, East Miller Streets, South Olive, and East Thornton Drive are under a precautionary Boil Water Advisory until 10 a.m. on Friday, November 7, unless otherwise notified.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) requires all public water systems to issue a precautionary Boil Water Advisory when the pressure in the water main drops below 20 psi. Those affected should follow these instructions: 

  • Immediately after your normal water pressure is restored, run COLD water from a sink or tub until clear water flows from the faucet.
  • Boil all water used for drinking, cooking, and oral hygiene for at least 5 minutes before consumption.
  • It is not necessary to boil water for other uses.
