LAWRENCE CO. — The Lawrence County Commissioners have designated a substantial portion of the 2025 Opioid Settlement Funds to support several local organizations focused on recovery, community outreach, and public safety.

The funds were distributed through two accounts: Fund 1237 (Restricted) and Fund 1238 (Unrestricted). The total allocated amount shown on the report is $196,145.00.
Restricted Fund Allocations (Fund 1237)
The most significant portion of the settlement funds, totaling $179,145.00, was allocated from the Restricted Fund. These allocations support a range of services across the county:
- LC Probation – Becky’s Place: The highest allocation went to LC Probation – Becky’s Place, receiving $65,000.
- Families Forever: Received $44,145
- Salvation Army: Received $25,000
- Hope Resource Center: Received $15,000
- LC Sheriff’s Department: Received $15,000
- Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County: Received $15,000
Unrestricted Fund Allocations (Fund 1238)
The Unrestricted Fund disbursed a total of $17,000.00. This fund supported a warming shelter and community corrections:
- SARAH – Men’s Warming Shelter: Received $15,000
- Community Corrections: Received $2,000 (paid 09/30/25).
These allocations reflect the county’s effort to utilize the opioid settlement funds to combat the impact of the opioid crisis by supporting recovery services, prevention programs, and essential community resources.
