Larry Ray Lyons, 87, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, peacefully at home following a 3-year illness.
Born on February 15, 1938, he was the son of Hovey and Mildred (Maick) Lyons. Larry married Patricia Louise Cummings on October 19, 1957, at the Bedford Free Methodist Church, and she passed away on January 5, 2022.
Larry was proud of growing up in the Englewood neighborhood. He retired as a long-haul truck driver, hauling limestone all over the country and accumulating over four million miles.
His children survive Larry, Gary (Marla) Lyons of Heltonville, Chris (Amanda) Lyons of Williams, and Donna (Ken) Ikerd of Bedford; his grandchildren, Brandi Clark, Eric (Jolene) Lyons, Sean (Brittany) Lyons, Stephanie (Tony) Brock, Kevin (Rachel) Ikerd, and Kaci (Nolan) King; his great-grandchildren, Velvet (Tyler) Harding, Kayn Clark, Dylan Lyons, Brooke Lyons, Gracie Brock, Maddie Brock, Maggie Lyons, Cooper King, and Layla; his step grandchildren, Jacob Blackburn and Caleb Blackburn; his step-great-grandchildren, Charolette Blackburn and Emma Blackburn; and his sister, Zona Mills.
Preceding him in death are his wife, Patty Lyons; parents, Hovey and Mildred Lyons; and his brothers, Fred Lyons, Carl Lyons, and David Lyons.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes, located at 818 18th Street in Bedford, Indiana. Burial will follow at Dive Cemetery in Bedford, Indiana. Visitation will be from Noon until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Chapel.
