LAWRENCE CO. — The Lawrence County Commissioners, on Tuesday morning, granted permission to Bedford Revitalization Inc. (BRI) to use the west side of the Courthouse Square for its annual downtown holiday kickoff celebration.

The festivities are scheduled for Saturday, December 6th, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., marking the start of the holiday season in Bedford. The request was brought before the Commissioners by BRI member Nathan Watson.

The celebration, titled Bedford’s Christmas Around the Square, is a large volunteer effort organized by BRI and promises a full day of family-friendly activities, culminating in the popular Christmas parade.
- Christmas Parade: The highlight of the evening will be the annual Christmas Parade, which begins at 6 p.m.
- Free Photos with Santa: Children can take free photos with Santa Claus from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Harps Commons.
- Live Reindeer: Adding a touch of North Pole magic, live reindeer will be available for viewing at Harps Commons from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The event aims to bring the community together for a day of holiday cheer and support the revitalization of Downtown Bedford. Residents are encouraged to come out and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
