MARENGO — A routine traffic stop for a disregarded stop sign in Marengo on Friday morning resulted in the arrest of a Georgetown man on multiple drug and intoxication charges.
On the morning of Friday, October 17th, Indiana State Police Trooper Kayla Denk-Mundy and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a vehicle on State Road 64 after observing the driver disregard a stop sign.
The driver was identified as Paul E. Gullett, 61, of Georgetown, Indiana.
During interaction with Gullett, officers observed indicators of criminal activity and signs of impairment—a subsequent search of the vehicle located approximately five grams of suspected methamphetamine and suspected marijuana.
Gullett was arrested at the scene and transported to IU Health Hospital in Paoli for a chemical test to determine his level of impairment. He was then transported to the Crawford County Jail, where he is being held on bond.
Gullett faces the following charges of possession of meth, maintaining a common nuisance, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and possession of marijuana.
The arresting officers were Trooper Kayla Denk-Mundy and deputies from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.
All criminal defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
