INDIANA – If you plan to participate in bowhunting season this year, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is asking you to turn your quiet hours in the field into valuable data by becoming an Archer’s Index volunteer.

Bowhunting provides a unique opportunity to sit quietly and observe wildlife for extended periods. The DNR utilizes these firsthand observations from bowhunters to help shape future wildlife management decisions across the state.
How to Participate
Volunteers are asked to record all wildlife sightings while bowhunting between October 1st and November 15th.
By volunteering, you can make a positive difference in monitoring Indiana’s wildlife populations. To get started:
- Sign up online.
- After registering, volunteers will be mailed a packet containing the necessary forms and detailed instructions on how to record and submit their sightings.
The information gathered is crucial for DNR biologists. Learn more about the program and sign up to volunteer today!
