MITCHELL— The Mitchell Jr/Sr High School marching band, known as the “Sound of the Swarm,” recently showcased its 2025 program, “There’s a Monster Under My Bed,” at the Spring Valley Invitational in French Lick.
The band competed on Saturday, October 4th, placing 5th out of 6 bands at the invitational. The show features original music by Randall Standridge and Mo Longo.
The “Sound of the Swarm” is directed by Paul Pfeifer, with Color Guard instruction provided by Elli Carr and Nikki Mitchell. The Drum Majors leading the band this season are Andino Scarfone and Sophia Arvin.
The marching band’s season continues as they prepare for their next major event. The band will travel to Jasper for the ISSMA Preliminary competition on Saturday, October 11th.
