Mayor Thomson to host traveling Town Hall in District 5 with focus on housing

BLOOMINGTON — Mayor Kerry Thomson is inviting residents to the next Traveling Town Hall, which will take place on Monday, October 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. in District 5 at Jackson Creek Middle School at 3980 South Sare Road.

The meeting will offer residents a direct line of communication with City leaders and will feature a special focus on local housing issues.

The event’s guest speaker will be Anna Killion-Hanson, Director of Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND). Her presence highlights the Town Hall’s focus on addressing community concerns and feedback regarding housing, a crucial issue for many residents.

Mayor Thomson will open the event with a brief update on current and upcoming city projects. Following the Mayor’s remarks, attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions to the leadership panel using index cards distributed at the door. If time allows, the evening will conclude with a live question-and-answer session.

Residents of District 5 and community members from across the city are encouraged to attend to learn more about ongoing city initiatives and operations.

For those unable to attend in person, the Town Hall will be broadcast live on Community Access Television Services (CATS). The meeting will also be available for on-demand viewing shortly after the event at catstv.net.
