CARMEL – Bedford North Lawrence concluded the 2025 season by finishing 17th during the IHSAA girls golf state championships on Saturday at Prairie View.
The Stars, making their fourth consecutive appearance in the state finals, shot a second-round 375 for a two-day total of 754.
Sammie Nusbaum paced BNL in both rounds. She fired an 87 in the second round for a two-day total of 172.
Emma Voris bounced back with a 91 in the second round for a two-day total of 187, while Kinleigh Root completed her high school career with a 95 (featuring a birdie on the 17th hole) and 36-hole total of 189.
Kadynn Canada carded a second-round 102 (206 total) to complete the scoring for the Stars.
”It was definitely not the outcome we were wanting,” BNL coach Carly Stigall said. “We let the course and errors take a toll on us, and it’s hard to get back into the game when you’re mentally rocked by what happened in the previous round and holes.
“Root getting to be a part of the four consecutive years of state finals appearances is really special. She’s always been one kid that’s worked really hard to help get her team to Prairie View each year. She has so much to be proud of and gets to enter the alumni group with a lot of hardware.
”This season was a roller coaster. Many people did not think this team was capable of advancing to the state finals, but these girls proved them wrong. For all the change the team took on, and it being my first year in the head coach spot, I’m really proud of this group and am excited for what’s to come next season.”
Top-ranked Zionsville won the team championship with a 36-hole score of 607 (with a 302 second day), clipping No.3 Noblesville (308-321-629) to win its second straight crown. Zionsville sophomore Taylor Snively was the individual medalist for the second time, carding 71-70 to win by four strokes.
