Crawfordsville man arrested for OWI after single-vehicle crash in Martin County

LOOGOOTEE – A Crawfordsville man was arrested on Friday night for operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and other charges following a single-vehicle crash on US 231 near Loogootee in Martin County.

Indiana State Police were called to the scene of the crash, where 62-year-old Steven Ford of Crawfordsville had been involved in an accident. Ford was transported by ambulance to Deaconess Memorial Medical Center in Jasper for medical attention.

Police stated that while speaking with Ford at the hospital, he allegedly displayed visible signs of impairment. After being medically cleared, Ford submitted to a chemical test.

Following the test, Ford was arrested and charged with OWI and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was subsequently transported and booked into the Martin County Jail.
