BEDFORD — A Bedford woman has been ordered to serve prison time after failing to comply with the terms of her probation following a drug conviction, according to Lawrence Superior Court II.

Tina M. Lane, 41, pleaded guilty to possession of a narcotic drug, a Level 6 felony, in April 2024 as part of a plea agreement with the state. She was initially sentenced to 910 days, with 98 days credited for time served and the remainder suspended, leaving her with 546 days to serve on supervised probation.

Court officials said Lane violated her probation terms and tested positive on drug screens. On Thursday, Judge Robert Cline revoked her probation and sentenced her to 790 days in the Indiana Department of Correction.
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Arthur Pearcy said the case underscores that probation is “a privilege — not a right.”

“When someone is given the opportunity to avoid incarceration by complying with treatment and supervision, it is essential that they take that second chance seriously,” Pearcy said in a statement. “The defendant in this case made repeated choices that showed a disregard for the court’s orders, public safety, and her own recovery. We will continue to hold individuals accountable when they violate the law and put the community at risk.”
