WASHINGTON CO. – This week, the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department have filed criminal charges against Marcus Miller after an investigation into allegations of long-term sexual abuse.

According to a joint statement from the agencies, Miller, 37, appeared at the Sheriff’s Department on July 2, 2025, and admitted to repeated inappropriate sexual contact with a victim. The abuse allegedly began when the victim was 12 years old and continued for several years in various locations throughout Washington County. The victim, now 19, later confirmed the abuse in an interview on July 24, 2025.
Washington County Prosecutor Tara Coats Hunt emphasized the seriousness of the case, stating, “The nature of these allegations reflects a serious betrayal of trust. Our office is committed to protecting victims and ensuring justice is pursued to the fullest extent of Indiana law.”
Sheriff Brent Miller commended the victim for their courage in coming forward, highlighting the importance of thorough police work. He specifically praised Detective Brad Naugle of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, whose “professional and diligent investigation directly led to the filing of charges.”
The case is now moving through the judicial process. No further details will be released at this time to protect the victim’s privacy.
