STEUBEN CO. – Eastbound traffic on the Indiana Toll Road will be diverted this morning to allow for the removal of a semi-truck involved in an overnight crash. The incident occurred in a construction zone near mile marker 143.6.

According to the Indiana State Police, a 2020 Volvo semi-truck towing a trailer ran off the road and crashed into a closed lane at approximately 1:58 a.m. today. The driver was not injured in the incident.
While traffic can currently pass the scene, a complete diversion is planned for later this morning to facilitate the cleanup and repair of a damaged barrier wall from the crash. At approximately 10:00 a.m. EDT, eastbound traffic will be diverted off the Toll Road at Exit 121 (Howe/LaGrange).
The designated detour route is as follows:
- Travel south on State Road 9.
- Turn east onto State Road 120.
- Travel north on I-69 to return to the eastbound Indiana Toll Road.
Authorities anticipate the detour will last for several hours while crews work to remove the vehicle and complete repairs to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to plan for delays and use the alternate route.
