BEDFORD – During today’s Commissioners meeting, Lawrence County Auditor Martha Arnold Turner requested approval for a debarment and suspension attestation for vendors who do not have federal funding. This measure would require any vendor to certify that they are not barred from receiving federal funds, and was requested by the State Board of Accounts.
The document, which vendors would be required to sign, certifies that the vendor is not currently debarred, suspended, proposed for debarment, or voluntarily excluded from entering into agreements with any federal agency or political subdivision of the State of Indiana. It also confirms that the vendor has checked the SAM.gov website to verify their status.
The goal of the attestation is to ensure that the county remains in compliance with state and federal regulations by conducting business only with eligible contractors and subcontractors.
