City of Bloomington Utilities extends Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for five addresses

BLOOMINGTON – The precautionary Boil Water Advisory for five addresses on East 19th Street, East 20th Street, and North Lincoln Street has been extended until 12 p.m. Friday, September unless otherwise notified.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) requires all public water systems to issue a precautionary Boil Water Advisory when the pressure in the water main drops below 20 psi. Those affected should follow these instructions: 

  • Immediately after your normal water pressure is restored, run COLD water from a sink or tub until clear water flows from the faucet.
  • Boil all water used for drinking, cooking, and oral hygiene for at least 5 minutes before consumption.
  • It is not necessary to boil water for other uses.
