City of Bloomington Utilities issues Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for select addresses

BLOOMINGTON – Due to water main maintenance, five addresses on East 19th Street, East 20th Street, and North Lincoln Street are under a precautionary Boil Water Advisory until 12 p.m. Thursday, September 18th, unless otherwise notified.

For more information and specific addresses, visit bloomington.in.gov/utilities or call 812-339-1444.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) requires all public water systems to issue a precautionary Boil Water Advisory when the pressure in the water main drops below 20 psi. Those affected should follow these instructions:

  • Immediately after your normal water pressure is restored, run COLD water from a sink or tub until clear water flows from the faucet.
  • Boil all water used for drinking, cooking, and oral hygiene for at least 5 minutes before consumption.
  • It is not necessary to boil water for other uses.

Affected customers with up-to-date contact information with CBU Customer Service were alerted directly. Customers can update their contact information electronically using the form at bton.in/cbu24.
