MARTIN CO.— A Loogootee man was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired after being stopped for speeding on Monday evening.
Indiana State Police Trooper Austin Collins was on patrol in Shoals when he observed a vehicle traveling over the speed limit. Trooper Collins conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Travis Allen, 33, of Loogootee. During the interaction, Allen displayed visible signs of impairment.
Allen was transported to Daviess Community Hospital for medical clearance and a chemical test before being arrested and taken to the Martin County Jail.
Allen is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor.
The arresting officer was Trooper Austin Collins, assisted by the Loogootee Police Department.
