INDIANA — The Indiana Secured School Safety Board has unanimously approved the allocation of more than $27.1 million in grant funding to support school safety initiatives across the state. This funding will be distributed to 494 school districts.
Schools receiving grants in Lawrence County include:

- Mitchell Community Schools, in Lawrence County, $46,250.00
- Springville Community Academy, in Lawrence County, $32,375.00
The grants are part of the Indiana Secured School Safety Grant (SSSG) program, established in 2013 under Indiana Code 10-21, to enhance school safety. The SSSG program is a state fund that provides matching grants to a variety of educational institutions, including school corporations, accredited non-public schools, charter schools, and coalitions of school corporations.
