SEYMOUR – Emma Voris was a model of consistency while leading Bedford North Lawrence to a 173-186 victory over Seymour during girls high school golf action at Shadowood on Tuesday.
Voris carded seven pars during her round of 2-over 38 on the front nine to record her career-best score and share medalist honors.
“I’m really proud of her, putting Saturday’s round (at The Legends) behind her and shifting her mindset to bring in a good score,” BNL coach Carly Stigall said.
Sammie Nusbaum finished with 42, Kinleigh Root added a 44, and Kadynn Canada capped the team scoring with 49. Bella Warren also posted her career best with 52.
“For her first year, Bella has really grasped a ton of knowledge about her swing and has figured out how to correct her mistakes,” Stigall said. “I’m really excited to see what she’s capable of the rest of the season.
”Conference and sectional are just a couple weeks away, and there’s still a bunch of work to do. One thing about this team is that they aren’t scared to fight for shots. I know they’re going to take these rounds to motivate themselves, to bring their A game for the weeks to come.”
Shana Spray paced the Owls with 38.
The Stars will face Mitchell on Wednesday.
