BEDFORD — The North Lawrence Community Schools (NLCS) Board of School Trustees will convene for a public hearing and regular session on Thursday, September 18, 2025, beginning at 6:00 p.m., followed immediately by a private executive session at 7:00 p.m.
All meetings will take place at the NLCS Administration Building, located at 460 W Street in Bedford.
The executive session, which is closed to the public, is scheduled to discuss several specific topics permitted under Indiana state law. The subjects on the agenda include:
- Collective Bargaining Strategy: The board will discuss its strategy with respect to collective bargaining, as allowed by Indiana Code § 5-14-1.5-6.1 (b)(2)(A).
- Prospective Employees: The board plans to receive information about and interview potential new employees, in accordance with Indiana Code § 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(5).
- Employee Performance: A discussion will be held on the job performance evaluation of individual employees, as permitted by Indiana Code § 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(9).
- Attorney-Client Communications: The board will also engage in communications with an attorney that are subject to the attorney-client privilege, a matter covered by Indiana Code § 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(19).
No binding votes or final decisions will be made during the executive session.
