MITCHELL — Mitchell Community Schools is inviting alumni, supporters, and community members to purchase engraved pavers as part of the “Walk of Fame” at the new Mitchell Fieldhouse.
The fundraiser, organized by the school’s athletic department, offers personalized pavers to be installed at the front of the Fieldhouse. Previous rounds of sales resulted in approximately 130 pavers, and sales for a new round began on August 4, 2025. Standard pavers, measuring one foot by one foot, cost $100, with other sizes available.
The Fieldhouse, which features four courts, a weight room, turf fields, and other amenities, enables Mitchell to host multiple tournaments and youth sports events annually. School officials say the venue has made the community a focal point for regional competitions, benefiting not only students but also local hotels, restaurants, and businesses.
Athletic Director Jeff Hein thanked TexaCon Cut Stone and Toby Wedgewood for their contributions to the project, noting that their support was instrumental in its completion.
Hein said the paver program is both a way to show school pride and to support Mitchell Athletics. “We are all involved in making Lawrence County and the Mitchell community a better place to live and visit,” Hein said in the announcement.
