BEDFORD – A Bedford man with a prior conviction for invasion of privacy was arrested early Saturday morning after police responded to a domestic dispute report at a local fast-food restaurant.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Bedford Police Officer Joshua Turner, officers were dispatched to the McDonald’s on 16th Street around 12:45 a.m. A male McDonald’s employee reported a loud domestic dispute in the parking lot between a female employee and a male in a red car, later identified as Tillett. The caller told officers that Tillett was being aggressive, yelling, and preventing the female from leaving her vehicle.
As the officers arrived, the caller pointed out the woman’s white SUV and Tillett’s red car as they left the parking lot. Officers were able to stop the vehicle on Limestone Drive between 16th Street and John Williams Boulevard.
During questioning, Tillett was read his Miranda Warnings and agreed to speak with the police. He confirmed he was aware of a protective order against him, with the female he was arguing with as the protected person. Tillett also has a prior conviction for invasion of privacy from a separate case in 2021. When asked about the protective order, Tillett claimed he had not been arrested in the past for being around the female because she was willing to be with him.
The woman told police that she had invited Tillett to McDonald’s to talk. Both parties denied that a domestic dispute had occurred; however, due to the potential for the situation to become physical and the active protective order, Tillett was placed into custody. He was transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
