DELAWARE CO. – On Saturday, August 23, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Trooper Michael Bertacini was conducting routine patrol on State Road 67 near Pugsley Road when he observed a white sedan traveling southbound noticeably faster than the posted speed limit. Â
Trooper Bertacini initiated a traffic stop by activating his emergency lights. The vehicle immediately accelerated, initiating a pursuit. The chase continued south on State Road 67 before the suspect turned north onto County Road 800 W toward Daleville. The vehicle attempted to enter Interstate 69 southbound, but lost control, leaving the roadway and getting stuck in a ditch. Â
A high-risk traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was safely taken into custody. The suspect was identified as Jesse Leroy Goble, 25, of Plainfield. Goble was transported to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital for evaluation and was medically cleared.
Further investigation revealed that Goble had active warrants out of another county. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of drug paraphernalia.
Goble was transported to the Delaware County Jail, where he is being held on multiple charges related to the pursuit, as well as his outstanding warrants.
Jesse Leroy Goble, 25 of Plainfield, was preliminarily charged with:
- Resisting Law Enforcement, a Level 6 Felony.
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated – Endangering, a Class A
- Reckless Driving, a Class A Misdemeanor.
- Driving While Suspended – Prior, a Class A Misdemeanor.
- Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class A Misdemeanor.
- Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a jury in a court of law.
