BEDFORD— St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School is celebrating a perfect score after every third grader at the school passed the Indiana Reading Evaluation and Determination (IREAD-3) assessment this year.
The achievement makes St. Vincent the only school in Lawrence County to record a 100% pass rate for the entire 3rd-grade student body.

School officials credited the milestone to the hard work of students, the dedication of teachers, and the strength of the school’s Catholic education, rooted in both faith and academics.
“This accomplishment is a testament to the hard work of our amazing students, the dedication of our incredible teachers, and the strength of our Catholic education,” the school said in a statement.
The IREAD-3 exam is a statewide test administered annually to third graders in Indiana to measure foundational reading skills and determine reading proficiency. Passing the assessment is a key step in ensuring students are prepared for future academic success.
