Milk announced as ‘Official Beverage of High School Athletics in Indiana’ by American Dairy Association Indiana and IHSAA

INDIANAPOLIS – American Dairy Association Indiana Inc. (ADAI) and the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) today announce that milk is the official beverage of high school athletics in Indiana. Cow’s milk provides 13 essential nutrients, including calcium, vitamin D, protein, carbohydrates, and electrolytes, leading it to be selected as the drink of choice.

“Milk is a science-backed way to refuel, build muscle, hydrate, and strengthen bones, making it the perfect choice for athletes to use to recover and gain a competitive edge in their sport,” said Jenni Browning, CEO at American Dairy Association Indiana Inc. “We are proud to partner with IHSAA to bring education and nutrition to students across Indiana, while also supporting our state’s dairy farmers.”

“Our goal at IHSAA is to ensure Indiana’s student athletes stay at the top of their game, both physically and mentally, and we are confident milk will give them the boost they need on the court and in the classroom,” said Paul Neidig, IHSAA Commissioner. “We look forward to partnering with the American Dairy Association Indiana Inc. to fuel our students and strengthen Indiana’s legacy of high school athletics.”

This partnership will last three years and includes perks like exclusive Winners Drink Milk display posters in all IHSAA high schools, and celebratory milk presented by an Indiana dairy farmer and family at the conclusion of all State Championships.

About the Indiana High School Athletic Association, Inc. (IHSAA)

The IHSAA is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization that is self-supporting without the use of tax monies. Since its founding in 1903, the Association’s mission has been to provide wholesome, educational athletics for the secondary schools of Indiana. Its 409-member high schools – public, institutional, parochial, and private – pay no annual membership fee or incur entry fees to play in the Association’s tournaments. A state tournament series is conducted annually in 24 sports, 11 for girls, 11 for boys, and two co-eds (unified flag football, unified track and field). A 19-person board of directors, elected by member school principals, governs the organization.
