COLUMBUS — A Columbus man was arrested on Tuesday, August 5, following a two-month investigation into the possession of child sex abuse material.

Brian Willment, 45, was taken into custody by detectives with the Indiana State Police-Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Section.
The investigation began after a tip was received about an individual in Columbus possessing child pornography, and with assistance from the Child Rescue Coalition, Detective Robert Whyte identified Willment as a suspect. A search warrant was executed at Willment’s residence, where additional evidence related to child sex abuse material was found.
Willment faces ten Level 5 felony charges for possession of child pornography and bestiality. He was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail, where he is being held until his initial court appearance.
The Indiana ICAC Task Force, which the Indiana State Police oversee, received assistance from the Columbus Police Department, the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office in the investigation. The task force is dedicated to investigating and prosecuting crimes where the internet is used to exploit children. The public is encouraged to report online exploitation and enticement crimes against children through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or by contacting their local law enforcement agency.
