BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested on Thursday, July 31, following a warrant service that escalated into charges of resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.
According to an affidavit for probable cause filed by Officer Bailey Duprey of the Bedford Police Department, officers, including Sgt. T. Gerkin and Officer D. Blackwell, served a warrant on Samuel Timothy Gabriel Bultman, 31, at his residence in the 1000 block of 18th Street.

Upon making contact, Bultman initially complied with Officer Duprey’s request to step onto the front porch and emptied his pockets. However, after being placed in hand restraints and escorted towards a patrol vehicle, Bultman’s demeanor reportedly changed.
The affidavit states that Bultman began yelling and refused to comply with officers’ directives. When Sgt. T. Gerkin attempted to remove a vape from Bultman, he allegedly “forcefully and powerfully pulled away.” His shouting reportedly drew his sister outside in an attempt to calm him. Officers eventually restrained Bultman on the trunk of the patrol vehicle before securing him in the back seat, after he repeatedly refused to get his head or legs inside.
Samuel Bultman was subsequently transported to the Lawrence County Security Center and placed in custody on July 31, 2025. He faces charges of resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.
