GREENWOOD – One person was killed in a small plane crash that occurred Wednesday morning in Greenwood, the Greenwood Police Department confirmed.
The crash was reported around 10:45 a.m. on July 30, near the intersection of East Main Street and Sheek Road. This location is just west of Interstate 65 and southeast of the Indy South Greenwood Airport.

The Greenwood Fire Department confirmed via social media that crews were on the scene investigating a confirmed plane crash.
According to Greenwood police, the aircraft went down between a Circle K gas station and the Nest Event Center, with the wreckage landing approximately 20 feet from the gas station building. Authorities have identified the fatality as a female.
