Bonnie K. Stalker, 87, of Bedford, IN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born August 24, 1937, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Emery and Nancy Jane (Cobb) Brinegar. Bonnie was a 1955 graduate of Bedford High School. She married Robert E. Stalker on March 4, 1962, in Bedford, Indiana. They were happily married for sixty-three years before his passing on July 7, 2025.
Bonnie worked as a sales clerk for several clothing stores in Bedford and served as the Manager of Maurices in Bedford for several years before retiring in 1983. Bonnie was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially. She also enjoyed crafting and was very artistic. She enjoyed going to French Lick and the boats. Bonnie was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Bedford for over 50 years, where she faithfully served on several boards.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Bobbi (Dave) Houpt; two grandsons, Darren Houpt and Ryan (Kayla) Houpt; two great-grandsons, Peyton and Kain Houpt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Nancy Brinegar; her husband, Robert E. ‘Rob’ Stalker.
Funeral services for will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes, 818 18th Street, Bedford, IN, with Pastor Jason Filler officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Cresthaven Memory Gardens, Dixie Hwy, Bedford. Visitation will also be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
