Indiana State Police Jasper Post welcomes new Probationary Trooper Nathan Teusch

JASPER – The Indiana State Police (ISP) Jasper Post, District #34, is proud to announce the assignment of Probationary Trooper Nathan Teusch to its ranks. Trooper Teusch is one of twenty probationary troopers who graduated from the 87th Indiana State Police Academy on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

A native of New Pekin, Trooper Teusch is a 2022 graduate of Eastern High School. He currently resides in Washington County and will be relocating to Crawford County following his graduation. Upon completing his field training, his primary patrol area will be Crawford County.

During their time at the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy, Trooper Teusch and his classmates underwent an intensive training program, completing nearly 1,200 hours of structured instruction. The comprehensive curriculum covered a wide range of essential law enforcement techniques and practical, scenario-based training. This included criminal law, traffic law, emergency vehicle operations, psychology, vehicle crash investigation, self-defense, use of force, first responder techniques, firearms training, and various other general law enforcement-related requirements.

With the academy now complete, these probationary troopers will embark on a crucial three-month field training period. During this phase, they will work under the close supervision of a Field Training Officer, applying their academy knowledge in real-world scenarios. Upon successful completion of this field training program, Trooper Teusch will be assigned his state police patrol vehicle and begin his solo patrol duties.
